Can You Get Your Windows Tinted When It Rains? (Yes — Here's Why)

The Myth

One of the most common calls we get before a Georgia storm: 'Should I cancel? It's supposed to rain tomorrow.' The worry makes sense on the surface — tint is applied with a slip solution and water is involved. So rain must ruin it, right?

Why It's False

Window film is installed on the INSIDE of your glass, and every Deluxe Detail install happens inside our climate-controlled bay at 10700 Eagle Dr in Covington. Temperature and humidity in the bay are constant whether it's sunny, storming, or snowing outside. The rain never touches the work.

What About Driving Home in the Rain?

Also fine. The film sits on the interior surface of sealed glass. Once your vehicle leaves the bay, exterior rain has zero contact with fresh film. The only curing rule that matters is inside the cabin: don't roll the windows down for 3–5 days and don't touch the interior glass while it dries.

The Only Weather That Actually Matters

Extreme cold slows curing — a tint installed in July cures in about 3 days, while a January install can take up to a week to fully dry. But that's about temperature over days, not rain on your appointment day. Our bays stay at install-perfect conditions year-round.

Bottom Line

Rainy day? That's actually a perfect day to drop your car off — you'll be back on the road the same day with fresh film, storm or no storm. Book your slot online and stop watching the forecast.
